From full-scale tests to worldwide shipment of industrial mixers

When it comes to guaranteeing the performance, reliability and safety of industrials mixers, full-scale testing is essential. In 2022, AGITEC launched investments in state-of-the-art testing equipment, ranging from a 100L tank to a 40m3 pit. These tools make it possible to test a wide range of agitator sizes before shipping them around the world.

FULL-SCALE TESTING : the key to quality

AGITEC® industrial mixers key components in a wide range of industries, from chemicals and pre-chemicals to food and pharmaceuticals. Each of these industries has its own requirements in terms of mixing and agitation. For example, in the chemical industry, it is essential to ensure perfect homogeneity of reagents to guarantee precise, controlled and efficient chemical reactions. In the pharmaceutical sector, the quality of the mixture can have a direct impact on the composition and efficacy of the drugs produced. Similarly, in the food industry, optimum uniformity is essential for the final integrity to the products.

This is why AGITEC spares no effort to guarantee the performance of its equipment under real production conditions. To achieve this, rigorous full-scale testing is carried out, including static and dynamic FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) tests.

STATIC FAT

Static FATs enable customers to check the quality and conformity of the components delivered before shipment, in close liaison with the relevant order contract. These checks are backed up by rigorous documentation : manuals, as-built drawings, material certificates, welding logs, welders' qualifications, etc.
Additional services can be specifically requested to take the inspection to the extreme : material analysis by X-ray bombardment (PMI inspection), inspection of weld integrity by liquid impregnation (dye penetrant inspection), sound inspection at set speed (using a sound level meter) and direct measurement of the displacement of rotating parts (vibration analysis).

DYNAMIC FAT

Dynamic FATs add a further requirement. They simulate situations where the agitator has to adapt to variations in load or speed. This can be particularly important in industries such as chemicals, where production conditions can vary depending on a number of factors. It is then necessary to test the agitator on different volumes to sweep the scope during factory tests.

AGITEC is therefore able to guarantee to its customers that mixers meet all the specific requirements of their specifications, and that they are capable of maintaining optimum performance under real-life conditions, while complying with the strictest and safety standards.

A modular test centre

AGITEC's test centre, located in Civrieux on the northern outskirts of Lyon, includes a 40m3 test pit. This space is specifically designed to simulate conditions as close as possible to those in production. This makes it possible to test its mixers, even very large ones.
This is the case with this agitator, which AGITEC was able to run in real operation in order to carry out the necessary checks before shipping it to its future owner. It is equipped with 2 AX1 propellers measuring 2000 mm in diameter and a bottom turbine with 3 curved blades measuring 1800 mm in diameter. The agitation shaft is around 7,50 metres long.

safe shipping

AGITEC pays particular attention to the packaging and wrapping of its equipment, because safe shipping is also an important factor in ensuring the integrity of the agitator's performance. This is why bespoke packaging is created, ranging from XXL wooden pallets to bespoke watertight marine packaging. This ensures that packaged products arrive at their destination in perfect condition, ready to be integrated into the end-user customer's production process.
